PROGRAM OVERVIEW

If you work, invest, or conduct any type of business in offshore financial centers or regulate those that do, regardless of where you live, you should not want to miss the 6th OffshoreAlert Financial Due Diligence Conference - 'The Unexpurgated Offshore', which will take place on April 13-15, 2008 at the Fort Lauderdale Grande Hotel & Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.

For the first time in its six-year history, our conference will be devoted entirely to the subject of OFCs, which is one of the most dynamic areas of global finance. This will include analyzing products, scrutinizing jurisdictions, and looking at key issues such as laws, regulatory regime, quality of civil and criminal justice, niche segments, transparency, political stability, corruption, fraud, money laundering, tax exchange information agreements, mutual legal assistance treaties, international reputation, cost, infrastructure, work permits for expatriates, telecommunications, and a lot more.

Most importantly, we will show you what is considered to be legal by major countries like the USA, the UK and Canada - and what is not!

OffshoreAlert will deliver comprehensive, independent, and unfettered information about every important aspect of the complex world of offshore banking and finance, so that you may reduce your business risk, improve the efficiency of your capital, and make important new relationships with people of influence, expertise, and wealth.

This year's conference - entitled 'The Unexpurgated Offshore' - is aimed at everyone who works, invests, or conducts any type of business in offshore financial centers or regulate those that do, regardless of where you live.

General sessions include a keynote debate between pro-offshore and anti-offshore parties about the role OFCs play in the global economy, while another debate will ponder the statement: 'My Way or the Highway: The United States is Regulating Itself into Economic Decline'. Other general sessions will inform attendees 'How to Utilize Offshore Financial Centers WITHOUT Breaking the Law', and go into 'Steps OFCs Must Take to Thrive in the Modern Era'.

Offshore Compliance 101

The 'Offshore Compliance' track is aimed at financial institutions and others conducting cross-border transactions which are required to comply with laws that are becoming increasingly harsh on transgressors. It will show financial institutions how to set up and implement a system to meet international compliance standards and reduce general business risk.

This track is chaired by leading Offshore Compliance Specialist Nancy J. Saur, CAMS, FICA.  Founder of the Cayman Islands Compliance Association, Ms. Saur has nearly 30 years of experience in international finance.

Offshore A - Z

The 'Offshore A-Z' track will concentrate on offshore products, such as trusts, hedge funds, Special Purpose Vehicles, and insurance/reinsurance products; asset recovery, liquidations, and investigations.

Jurisdictions 360°

The 'Jurisdictions 360°' track will take an in-depth look at five of the most significant offshore financial centers that service the biggest corporations and wealthiest high net worth individuals domiciled in the world's richest countries, plus one jurisdiction that has the potential to compete with the best of them: the Bahamas, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Panama, and Cuba.
