Grenada Commission bent on going wherever truth leads

Intro:
The Grenada Commission investigating the conduct of Prime Minister Keith Mitchell may not call its first witness for some time as it gets prepared administratively for the probe that it is hoped will be completed within 30 days of the first real sitting.

Excerpt:

Timothy Bass, his self-proclaimed one time assistant who swore an affidavit that the Grenadian leader had received the cash as a kickback is also based in the US, as is investigative reporter David Marchant, whose publication first broke the story.

The commission has been given an Assistant Superintendent of Police to help hunt down potential witnesses.

The commission will almost certainly have to visit the United States, since Marchant has said publicly that he has no plans of visiting Grenada, since he believes that the jurisdiction there is essentially corrupt.
