Gilbert Ziegler, aka Van Arthur Brink, who set up the First International Bank of Grenada that allegedly defrauded investors out of US$206 million, has died while awaiting trial.

After being investigated by the newsletter Offshore Alert, he resigned in 1999 and moved to Uganda, allegedly taking millions of the bank's money with him. The bank collapsed soon after and along with it went the money of mainly American investors.
